Self Refining and Christian Ways

Today in our English class, we are discussing one of our spiritual emphasis weeks topics. The topic is Refining ourselves. Our refining process starts with us as people with sin as a major part as our lives. Then the refining begins as we accept Christ into our life and begin to fallow God. And we keep getting more and more refined as we begin to live our lives fallowing Christ and acting as a christian. This picture describes the silver refining process. Our refining is much like the silvers. The silver starts as a piece of silver. Then they heat the silver up to get it into a liquid state. This is like us being reshaped or reformed. Then they add all of the chemicals to the silver to get all of the bad chemicals out. That is like what God is doing to us. Then those steps are repeated until you have a new piece of silver, much like us.

Another point that we our talking about is; if you are going to say you are a christian you should act like one. Today we see a lot of people who say they are Christians but might not act like one. In Chapel, the preacher was saying how Christians don't need to be Hippocrates. He was saying how if you are truly a follower of God, you should want to act as he would want you too and to show his name through you and your actions. The picture of the Bible shows how we could act as Christians and share Gods name to people who haven't heard it.
