Ninth Grade Goals
This school year is a brand new year with a chance to start things off right, and with new goals for the year. This blog is about an assignment that I am doing in my English class. What we are to do is to write a blog about our goals for the present school year.So this year I have some new goals that I have set for myself. This year I would like to make good grades, not fail any test, and turn in all of my homework on time and correct. I also would like to have a good baseball year, enjoy my time with my friends, pray more, and show God through my life. These are some goals that I have set for myself and that I hope to achieve.

The Truth Behind the Release
In the book The Giver, my summer reading project, there is a release ceremony that happens whenever there is a person who doesn't fit in or a person that is too old must leave the community. Although, throughout the beginning of the book, Jonas knew that there was a ceremony, he did not really understand what happened in the ceremony. Later in the book when Jonas meets The Giver, he understands that the mysterious release ceremony was not at all what he thought it to be. He found out that getting released wasn't as exciting as getting to go explore the world, it meant death. In this assignment i am to find a picture that symbolizes something from the book The Giver. My picture symbolizes how the person on the bench and the people having to be released are similar. The people in the book have to be released when they do not fit in or do not meet the standards of the community. In the picture he is on the bench isolated from the team and not playing because he did not meet the standards of the team in order to get to play.
